Weight Loss Case Study

I worked with a client who was unhappy with her weight and eating. Her name was Mary, a wife and working mother of two young boys. We worked together for five sessions. A particular breakthrough for Mary was when she realised that she’d been turning to food whenever she needed comforting.

When we looked at other aspects of her life it became clear that she never put herself first in terms of what she wanted and one way or another she now felt unappreciated and lacking.

Mary also realised that rarely gave her self permission to have �me time’ to do things like soak in a luxurious bath, or go out with friends, or watch what she wanted on TV, These all may seem like small trivial things, but added together they became the source of her feelings of being invisible, not appreciated and generally unloved.

Mary worked on creating ways that she could reward, comfort and appreciate herself that didn’t have to mean eating. Very soon she became very clear about her goals and how to achieve them. People around her noticed a change and responded by being more receptive and positive towards her. As a result, she easily shed weight, looked and was much happier, and forgot all about eating for comfort.

From Confusion to Clarity - decision making

For me the session was hugely beneficial. Liz is a very professional and competent woman with well developed skills in active listening, drawing out buried beliefs, very insightful and totally objective. She was able to assist me to unscramble the scrambled thought life in my head and bring clarity.

I left feeling heard, confident, clear as to the path I wanted to take, empowered and like the heavy load which has been weighing on my mind is now lifted.

I am extremely grateful to Liz for the time and space to think, and for the insights she drew and the feeling of empowerment I now have as a result of discussing my issues with her.

Fear of Swings for nine-year-old

We went to Chessington World of Adventure a couple of weeks ago and my son managed to sit next to the large pirate swing and watch it in action. He said it was not at all upsetting - he was very surprised (so was I)!!

Thanks so much to you, this fear seems to just have diminished in importance -I am so pleased and hope all continues so well. He still mentions the finger and thumb ’squeezing’ and tells me he does use it sometimes in uncomfortable situations.

So all in all a huge success - I can not believe it is going to be easier from now on!!! Thank you and my very best wishes

Spider Fear

I used to be so terrified of spiders that I couldn’t even look at a picture of one and refused to travel outside of Europe. I found general house spiders in this country terrifying. This fear was preventing me going to Australia to visit friends so I decided I ought to try to do something about it.

I was very sceptical, but after just 2 sessions with Liz I am feeling much more at ease when I see a spider in the house and have just booked a ticket to Australia. I would definitely recommend seeing Liz if you are arachnophobic.

Making the best of Relationships

Ex-smokers

Hi Liz,

Just wanted to mention that I dont smoke! - I have not smoked since before that session, so I have much to thank you for.

Although smoking does crop up in my thoughts, I dont feel the need to go anywhere near it. Even when out in a pub drinking alcohol I avoid the temptation.

I was a 20 a day smoker, I still enjoyed smoking but always knew that one of these days I had to give up, but i enjoyed it too much. I use to wake up in a bad mood everyday, heavy chest and it took me a good hour to fully wake up to face the day. I felt I had had enough, I needed to do something about it, but will power alone would not be enough, I am far too weak to resist the pangs of nicotine……. One day my partner found a leaflet stating that you could be free of smoking with just one session of Hypnotherapy, he brought it in for me to sign up. I was very sceptical but thought, hey, what I have got to loose?

I did not ever think I could give up, I had never even tried before, until I met Liz, she invited me into her office and we had a lovely chat, very informal and comfortable. She made me feel very relaxed. I told her I still enjoyed smoking even though I knew I had to give up. Also that I was worried that I would put on weight, especially since I was getting married next May.
When Liz hypnotised me I was fully conscious of what was going on, but I was definitely being hypnotised as I have never felt so relaxed before in my life, its like deep meditation. When I came out I felt amazingly light, fluffy and relaxed.

That was the last time I had a cigarette…….
Now my fianc� has noticed that I am lively in the mornings, I jump out of bed without that hangover feeling you get without the drink, it’s amazing, I feel like I have a lot more energy and not tired all the time. I was often very weak and drained but I feel much stronger now in my health.

I thoroughly recommend it, you will save the money you spend on one session 10 times over in the long term. I bought myself a gift this month with all the money I saved on smoking.

I no longer smell, I no longer feel tired and I am over the moon!

Free from weight yo-yo

I turned to NLP at a difficult time where I had come to a stage of desperation and near depression because I just couldn’t find the willpower to lose weight. An alternative method to traditional dieting was proposed to me by my nutritionist and I thought I’d give it a go.

For me, it worked wonders because the ”talking about it” therapy helped a lot: I was able to admit my frustrations to myself and deal with some difficult issues related to weight that most probably were the reason why I was always coming back to heavy eating. It’s been 3 months now, and I look and feel better than I have in many years.

Fear of Flying

Dear Liz,

Just a quick note to say thanks for sorting the flight phobia. Things have been fine since.

My flight was fine. When I got to the airport everthing was great, I was really calm and relaxed, enjoyed a little breakfast, read the paper, and it was the same on the way back, just like catching a bus. Thank you so, so much.

Dear Liz,

I came to see you some time ago for my fear of flying so I thought I should update you on my holidays. I came back from Corfu on Tuesday and everything was great. My family couldn’t believe the difference. I’m am flying out to San Francisco in October for three days with work so I’ll be doing two eleven hour flights in a short space of time and I’m quite relaxed about itnd looking forward to the trip.
