Attract success by choosing your thoughts
How you think and feel inside is communicated to the outside world in all sorts of ways. If you feel depressed you will attract depressed people and upbeat people will avoid you. If you decide to be unhappy, you will be. Life works that way - it will bring you what you express with your whole being.
If you talk with your colleagues about how bad work or business is and they join in you all get ‘infected’ and start filtering for more proof of how bad things are.
When you feel that work or your job or business is dull or irksome and choose not to do anything to improve it then you’re likely to communicate that to other people. Depending on your behaviour you may be seen as cynical or aggressive, or bitter, or stand-offish. We all intuitively pick up on behaviour and and body language and judge people accordingly.
I hope that from the above you begin to see how important it is to be usefully self-aware and listen in to the kind of thoughts or inner dialogue you have.
In my work I meet all kinds of people who are stuck with some aspect of their life. They could be managers who can’t make their team work together, entrepreneurs who can’t make ends meet, directors who can’t face the thought of presenting to their own people, executives who are snowed under with tasks getting stressed and losing sleep, people with obsessions, phobias, stress, anger, frustration apathy and bad habits.
The one thing they all have in common is a feeling of inner conflict. They discover that not acknowledging their values or honouring them can lead to problems such as weight loss or gain, smoking, cluttered thinking, frequent illness, low self-esteem, being unable to feel and problems with establishing and keeping relationships.
Living life under a veil concealing inner conflict is common and something that many will do for years. They soldier on and keep their world ’stable’ while their bodies suffer.
So take heed. If you want to enjoy life and good health you need to be living in real time and not in your head.
Check at different times of the day whether you’re thinking is mostly negative, or if you find yourself being largely cynical, irritable and critical of your work mates, associates.
If you are do something about it, don’t be part of the problem. You’ll feel much better for taking action, and as you get used to taking action you’ll find that your life gets better in so many different ways.
