Burnout - What are the signs?
More and more of us are feeling the stress from companies downsizing and therefore having more responsibilities, or having to run our business and do everything.
Today I talked to someone who was very worried about their partner and how she had changed over the last few months.
He said that it had been a long time since he’d heard her laugh out loud or suggest they go out. That her work seemed to be her only focus and even then she was very cynical about it.
These are typical symptoms of burnout and it often is the case that the person suffering just soldiers on while all around them are noticing the difference in their character.
The person wanted to know what he could do, as he felt helpless but deeply concerned.
So if you are worried that you’re heading for burn out or that someone you know is here is a list for guidance.
Typical Symptoms
These are pointers, it doesn’t mean that if you tick all of the above that you’re burnt out. However if you do and you generally feel like your soul is blue then it’s more than likely.
You need to take stock of what you really want in life and what you’re doing now to get there.
