To be more effective you must manage your thoughts
Think about it. How you think affects everything you do. If you think right than you can achieve almost anything you set your mind to.
If you think stressful, doom laden thoughts about work or business, then that’s how you’ll act. People around you will pick this up and you’ll find you have to work harder and as a consequence feel even more stressed or anxious.
To get away from the cycle of feeling stressed, then working harder to get more done and not achieving this is to manager your thoughts.
But how do you do this? Some people believe that we have no control over our thoughts and as long as you are one of them then you’ll not be achieving your full potential.
From now on notice what your thoughts are saying and note whether they are useful thoughts or hindering thoughts.
For example if you enter a meeting room; look around and say to yourself: ‘Oh no, I hate that person. I wonder how annoyed/upset/bored I’ll get with them.’
Once you’ve formed this thought, then it’s like setting up the scene for it to come true. When you notice that you’re thinking like this start to get into the habit of turning them around and ask how you could have a different outcome, or what could you do that make the experience different.
This is how you learn to become more usefully optimistic and thinking about what do you want and what you can do. This is how successful people think. There thoughts support them and because they do they find ways to get what they want.
You can succeed too, all it takes is a little attention to your thinking. Why not start now?
