Unwind, destress and relax with nature
If your job or business is demanding and takes up most of the day you need to find a regular way to unwind. One of the easiest and quickest ways to de-stress, especially at this time of the year is to get close to nature.
To me one of the most blissful ways to relax and unwind is to potter around my garden with the song of a blackbird and the buzzing of insects in the background. It allows my mind to wander in the best possible space, I while I tidy up borders or lawn edging with the stresses of the day fading away.
The positive effects last for a day or more as I can gaze at my handy work from the house or from an upstairs window. Also I find that if I’ve had a tricky problem on my mind that a solution invariably pops into my head either during my garden session or just after.
So I recommend that if you have a garden use it as a winding down and de-stressing tool. You’ll be glad you did. Or if you haven’t a garden then make sure you get to walk in the country or park near you. You’ll find that any tension you have will fade as your senses start to tune into nature’s sounds and sights and you’ll feel refreshed and more at ease.
A blog that reminds me of my childhood spent on farms is Wiggley Wigglers by Heather Gorrigan. Go and check it out now.
Let me know of your adventures with nature, if you have a garden or just love a ramble in the countryside.
