What Keeps You From Success?
Yesterday I talked to an old colleague and we caught up our respective lives. It occured to me that at that time in my life I used a lot of stories about why I wasn’t getting anywhere. My old friend reminded me about how frustrated I used to get with work and my boss.
Over the years I’ve done a lot of work on myself and my thinking and some of the time I win the argument now! But back then I really believed my story, that it wasn’t my fault I was stuck, it was everybody else and the circumstances.
Often when I’m out networking I hear people say things like, ‘Ooh I’m just too lazy to get going with X,’ whatever the activity is. It’s almost as if it’s a badge of honour. This is a shame, because if they realised it was just a story they were using, they could just cut it out of their lives.
So, what story are you using to stop you from the success you hope for? What if you didn’t let it stop you anymore and just took action?
How prepared are you to really live life rather than waiting for it to happen?
