Now go over in your mind the scenes and notice the triggers that mean you head for food. Also notice what kind of state of mind you’re in as you eat. Would you say it’s similar to a trance-like state?
You know that state where you can eat and eat, never tasting, seeing or savouring the food that’s speedily consumed? Then when you’re done you come out of the trance state and then have the remorseful feelings of disappointment and failure and decide that you’re doomed to fail so you may as well eat some more.

Learn to Trust Yourself
I am encouraging you to begin to trust yourself again and feel good. When you really start to do this your subconscious will look for ways to make it happen again and again.
Your subconscious wants to look after you and as long as you associate food with those old feelings of guilt, shame and failure you will stay trapped with your old eating patterns.
When you change those food associations to pleasure and achievement then you break free, claim responsibility for your feelings and see food for what it is.

Then pat yourself on the back every time you do the above. There, that is the simple, yet amazingly effective rule to follow to begin your route to success.
Do take this simple step, and most importantly, congratulate yourself every time that you do it. That way you will make the big turnaround that you’ve been promising yourself.
